Change the length of the Futaba Antenna

I changed the length of the Futaba Antennas. No Problem at all. Now I can put my receiver in to the wing. The cable have I found here. 5 minutes easy work and the new antennas are ready to use. Thanks to Julian.

My first flights with a 2.4 Ghz FASST System from Futaba in a full carbon Pylon Plane (F5D)

Yesterday I tested the Futaba 2.4 GHz system in my F5D Plane. In advance I have done several flights with my good old Acromaster from Multiplex and a small Indoor plane called Voltmaster from Voltmaster. Once again I had no glitches at all. All Flight’s without any difficulties. The next step was to use the system in a modified Batleth; I will fly on the World championship 2008 in Kiev. The Batleth fuselage is build from Aramid and Carbon, so I had to put both antennas outside from the fuselage. With several walking tests on ground, I tried to find out what the range is. Everything seemed s under control so Carsten my F5D Buddy launched the plane in his smooth and good manner. The first flight test was ok, so we did more flights to see what happens. Everything seemed under control. I’m very happy with the new system.

practical test with my DX 7

the diagram of the flight

In the last month I did several flights with my new 2.4 GHz Transmitter. The Idea is to become practical experience with the new system. Up to now, I feel very comfortable, because so far I had no glitches at all. I did a lot of flights during very different flight conditions. One of my experimental vehicles was the acromaster. It is a very light electric powered model for outdoor flying. It is a good model for aerobatic flight. And I could not destroy it when the model was airborne. A good carrier for all my log equipment. One of the funny tests was to test the range of the transmitter. Not a science test but a gut practical experience to see how far you can go. So I started the Acromaster in evening and the plane flown up in a straight line. During the whole flight the plane was under full control. When we lost the Acromaster almost out of sight I stopped the ascent and started the descent. After the landing and analyzing the logger we could see the maximum Height of the flight was 1160 Meters above ground level. This was my personal best altitude flight. During the whole flight the plane was under fully control. So for me under normal conditions, before you loose control with your radio, a plane will be out of sight. Thanks to Mario, he was playing the second eagle eye for me.

Flight expierience with the DX 7

After several flights with a MULTIPLEX Acromaster and a hot F5D Model, the first Feedback is very positive. No glitches at all. We did several flights almost out of sight. All the time the model where under fully control. Also very deep low passes could be done without any problems. We had a lot of fun with the new gadget.

First glitch free test with DX7 on Air

Today was my first flight with the new DX7 from Spectrum.
The idea was to test the system attached on my F5D batleth on ground and airborne.
I had two glitchfree flights.

I had to install the smaller receiver outside the fuselage, because two test's with the receiver inside the fuselage and reduced transmitting power (push the button on the backside of the transmitter) worked just for around 20 Meters well. The first two flights were done with one receiver attached on the upper side of the fuselage. Further tests will be done with the equipment installed inside.
